King Tut Day is an unofficial holiday celebrated to commemorate the discovery of King Tutankhamun’s tomb in 1922 by Howard Carter and Lord Carnarvon. The day celebrates the life and legacy of the young pharaoh and his reign during the New Kingdom period in ancient Egypt.
